After busy Pnomh Penh and Siem Reap I decided to pay Kampot a visit. Having enjoyed spicy Kampot pepper squid it was time to go there. Danielle suggested to go there instead of Sihanoukville….and she was so right. Spent there 4 nights and discovered nice spots, good street food and new friends.

The city is very relaxed and chilled. Not busy, exactly what I was looking for. Checked myself into a silent Hostel Kool Kampot, recently opened with a very personal touch. Enjoyed the silence there and if i was up for some party and socialising, Mad Monkey Hostel was just a 3 minutes walk away.

Party there and relaxed night sleep – what to wish for more? The dorm was clean and only 5 USD.

But here is why I fell in love with the city…from there you can easily reach Kep National Park as well Bokor National Park. I spent 3 days in there and discovered the area. Hiking, I realised again that I’m a nature boy – rather need mountains then the ocean…

Nice street food around the city, spots you cannot find on TripAdvisor. Putz with his wife Salim in their Pop-up food truck, selling this amazing Beef Lab and this lovely family selling Cambodian pizza. Baked and pressed baguette topped with dried pork, surimi, onions, mayonnaise and chilli sauce. Just so good for 35ct only!!!
