After flying into Kathmandu I was picked up by Zepp who  gave me a ride on his scooter to the hotel and surprisingly my hotel was completely booked so I had the chance to discover a new way of living on a small budget. It was dirty, stinky and stains everywhere – time to leave my comfort zone. Surprisingly I had a very good sleep for like 10 hours and was picked in the morning to get my room sorted and headed off for breakfast. He works in a restaurant the named “Roots Eatery”. We made a nice omelette with local ingredients and headed off for a little discovery ride.

Of course we went to Swayambhunath Temples but more interesting with a little stroll to visit some countryside people – I had awesome potato, buffalo meat jerky made with sundried tomato, caramelised onions and tumeric, local rice wine and rice whiskey –  off the beaten tracks. Just how I like it!

Visited Boudhanath Stupa, which currently is still been rebuilt as it has been quite damaged during the earthquake lasts year. After that wepassed a little Monkey Temple and went to Pashupatiath Temple, where they cremate dead people and farewell them at the river side. Have a look…

Now I’m curious on some nice Nepali dumpling, called MoMo and Nepali Curry – Zepp promised me we will cook it soon. Can’t wait.

Show me some love, follow & like me!
